The Montgomery Township School District (MTSD) is partnering with Fairgrown Farm to introduce a Community Supported Agriculture (CSA) pickup location at Montgomery High School. The farm is owned and operated by brothers James and Alex Klett, who each graduated from Montgomery High School.

Participants can pick up weekly farm shares every Tuesday from 2 pm to 5 pm at Montgomery High School in Skillman.

A key component of this program includes support for MTSD’s educational efforts: 10% of all CSA proceeds will be reinvested into the district’s farm-to-school programming.

These funds will help integrate fresh, locally grown produce into school cafeterias and support a variety of experiences for students from kindergarten through 12th grade. Programs include farm field trips, in-school farmer visits, seasonal tastings, and cider pressings.

James says, “This is about making local agriculture part of everyday life for students. By participating in the CSA, families are not only feeding themselves— they’re helping create meaningful, real-world learning experiences for students throughout the district.”

This program is part of Fairgrown Farm’s innovative partnership model designed to expand farm-to-school programming, especially as traditional funding sources face limitations. By directly linking community food purchases to educational investment, this model creates a sustainable way to benefit both local farms and students.

The CSA operates year-round, offering a diverse, rotating selection of in-season vegetables sourced from Fairgrown Farm and its network of over 40 partner farms across New Jersey and Pennsylvania. Members also gain complimentary access to on-farm pick-your-own experiences and weekend educational events.

Through this program, we hope to build community ties, agricultural knowledge, and healthy lifestyles.
