Robert G. Tortolani, 95, died on April 11, 2025 at Stonebridge at Montgomery senior living community in Skillman, NJ. He was the beloved husband of the late Frances R. (Pandozzi) Tortolani. They were married for 67 years.
Born in Cranston, RI, a son of the late Guistino Tortolani and Assunta (Mariano) Tortolani, he had lived in North Providence, RI for more than 65 years before moving to Skillman, NJ in late 2022.
Robert served in both the United States Army and the National Guard, before embarking on a career as a costume jewelry model maker initially at Coro, followed by Torino Creations, until his retirement. His creative jewelry pieces were admired and fondly worn by family members and friends for years.
Robert was an avid reader. Each day began with the newspaper and a cup of coffee, and often ended with a book on World War II history. He was a devoted New York Yankees baseball fan and greatly enjoyed watching games with his family.
Robert leaves a son, David Tortolani, and his wife, Jacqueline Bussolari, of Skillman, NJ; two granddaughters, Stephanie and Lauren Tortolani, of Skillman, NJ; and a daughter, Michelle Tortolani, of Alexandria, VA.
Robert was the brother of the late Oresto Tortolani, Ralph Tortolani, Fred Tortolani, Edmund Tortolani, Melina Stabile, Elda Verrecchia, Blanche Louchunas, Florence Blackston, and Evelyn Santopietro.
A private service and burial will be held.
