Food Pantry Management

Savron has assigned the temporary management of the Otto Kaufman Center food pantry to Parks & Recreation Director John Groeger and his Executive Secretary Adrianna Cortez after the retirement of the previous manager Denise Crowley, who was the full time community resource manager.

"I think John and Adrianna have done an outstanding job serving the Montgomery residents," Savron said. "We've had 142 visits since January, when they took over. They have been serving 35 families since January and provided close to $9,000 in ShopRite gift cards for perishable items. Only non-pershiable items are available in the food pantry."

Groeger will provide a full report at the September 18 Township Committee meeting.

An announcement about the new, permanent Community Resource Manager is expected soon. This is a shared position with Somerset County, and the interview process is complete. The county will make the final announcement.

 * A "turf process" that is expected to take 1.5 to 2 weeks.

 * Installation of the perimeter fencing, which should take about a week.

New Municipal Cell Tower to Boost WiFi/Phone Service in Cherry Valley Country Club Area

Progress is being made to build a cell tower in the vicinity of the Cherry Valley sewage treatment plant in the southwest part of the township. The due diligence on the property is underway, and a meeting with the Cherry Valley Homeowners Association is scheduled for mid September to provide them with an update. The new plant is intended to boost cell service coverage, which is currently poor in that area.

Kenvue 'Equity Owner' to Present Plans to the Pubic on Monday

Developer Eli Khan of suburban Philadelphia will present his plans and options for the former Kenvue corporate site — 383 acres on Grandview Road in Skillmanat the Planning Board meeting on Monday, September 8 at 7 pm to discuss the future of the Kenvue Corporate Campus.

As the "equity owner," Khan has created several concept plans that outline potential development of the property. One includes the building of 417 housing units, which would require variances from the Montgomery Zoning Board of Adjustment. Another plan shows a business park, which complies with the existing "limited manufacturing" site zoning of the property. The public is encouraged to attend and hear the presentation.

Fiber Optic Installation

Brightspeed fiber internet provider is currently installing new fiber optic cables in the northeastern section of Montgomery Township.

Door hangers are being placed on properties that may be impacted by the work. Work is being done in the right-of-way, and door hangers were placed on Grayson today.

Mayor Neena Singh mentioned the difficulty of some residents not having Wi-Fi. These installations are "growing pains that will ultimately lead to better service."
