When Aya Krause joined the “Girls on the Run” program in third grade, there was no telling where the sport might take her. Now a sophomore star for the Montgomery High School track and cross country teams, Krause has her sights set on collegiate competition, preferably in California.

Montgomery Township officials plan to install a street sign in honor of hometown hero Stephen Warner, who was killed in action in Vietnam in 1971. A dedication ceremony will take place at Community Drive—the street that connects Orchard Road to the Municipal complex—on Memorial Day [Monday, May 26] at 10 am.

Two Montgomery Township police officers earned awards for rescuing a dog from a pond in the Cherry Valley Country Club. The dog had escaped from a neighbor's backyard and fell into a frigid pond by the golf course on Jan. 21.

In New Jersey, a primary election is a process where registered voters of a specific political party choose their party's nominee(s) for the June general election. Voting began in April via absentee ballots and ends on June 10.

Born and raised in Montgomery Township, Amanda Baumunk is a junior at Montgomery High School. She will graduate one year early (this June). Baumunk's three most important issues are housing, environmental protection, and protecting our immigrant neighbors.

Vince Barragan has served as a global corporate finance executive for Johnson & Johnson. He graduated from Rahway High School in 1996. He earned a certificate of completion from the U.S. Army ROTC program at Fordham University. He currently serves as deputy mayor of Montgomery.

Michel “Mike” Martin of Skillman is a pharmaceutical executive and current member of the Montgomery Township Committee — the five-member governing body elected to lead the township. He is one of four candidates running in the June Primary Election for two slots on Democratic Party ballot in the November general election.
