A Peloton exercise bike reportedly caused a fire in a Belle Mead, NJ home this morning, according to Montgomery Township Police. Firefighters responded quickly and were able to limit the blaze to the basement.

Thomas D. Huey, who lived on a beautiful property in Montgomery Township, NJ, for many years, died on March 23, 2026. He was 90.

Ethel S. Terhune, a lifelong resident of Somerset County, NJ, died peacefully on March 30, 2026, leaving behind a legacy of faith, community service, and family dedication. Born Ethel Ann Stott on May 22, 1942, she was deeply rooted in her Christian faith, which was the cornerstone of her life and shaped her many years of active involvement in the Blawenburg Reformed Church and later the Harlingen Reformed Church.

The Montgomery Township Planning Board voted unanimously on March 23 to recommend to the township governing board that a 44-acre corporate office complex on the corner of Route 206 and Orchard Road is an "Area in Need of Redevelopment" (AINR). This could pave the way for tax breaks (Payments in Lieu of Taxes or PILOT), and other fiscal tools such as bonding for the owner/developer of the property.

New e-bike regulations are now in effect across New Jersey. E-bike drivers must have a valid license for ages 15 and up, and insurance. The Montgomery Township Police Department reminds residents the new law is designed to improve public safety, clarify operator requirements, and ensure responsible use of electric bicycles throughout our community.

A suspicious sound coming from a garbage can in the Palmer Square area of Princeton attracted assistance from the NJ  State Police Bomb Squad on March 30 at 12:04 am. Nearby residences were evacuated,  and hotel guests at the Nassau Inn who were staying in nearby rooms were relocated to another area of the building while the investigation was conducted.
