Rocky Hill Council Approves a Resolution to Allow 91 New Units in a Small Town of 280 Households
The tiny borough of Rocky Hill, nestled along the D&R Canal State Park and within walking distance to the booming real estate markets of Princeton and Montgomery Township, may see a huge population spike. The historic village has about 280 households, but that may increase by another 91 homes in the form of condos and rowhomes on a historic farm property off Princeton Avenue. This 32% increase would include 18 affordable units.

Candied Ginger
I’ve officially decided, to absolutely no one’s surprise, the best gifts are those you can eat. 2025 was no different, I made limoncello for my sister-in-law’s birthday, a pretty epic cake for my mom, and for Christmas I really outdid myself with a giant homemade drumstick ice cream cone for my dad (actually the size of his head) and for my brother and sister-in-law (and some for my best friend too), I made candied ginger!

Christopher Joseph Sheridan, 69, dedicated many years to the Montgomery Township NJ School District, working in the transportation department maintaining the school bus fleet until his retirement in 2010. He died peacefully on January 3, 2026.

Joan Jeffery Eckstein died on February 7 at the age of 101 at Stonebridge at Montgomery in Skillman, NJ, where she had resided for 10 years. Prior to that, she was a longtime resident of Princeton and Rocky Hill, NJ.

Montgomery Township to Amend Affordable Housing Plan, Preserves Existing Low-Cost Options Rather than Developing New Units
Montgomery Township’s Fourth Round Prospective Affordable Housing obligation (2025-2035) of 260 units will be addressed with extension of expiring controls and Fourth Round bonuses, according to a new plan that was posted online on Feb. 13. Township Committee is expected to introduce the affordable housing ordinance at its Thursday, Feb. 19 meeting. The Montgomery Planning Board will hold a public hearing and adoption vote on plan on Monday, Feb. 23.
