Vince Barragan has served as a global corporate finance executive for Johnson & Johnson. He graduated from Rahway High School in 1996. He earned a certificate of completion from the U.S. Army ROTC program at Fordham University. He currently serves as deputy mayor of Montgomery. In June 2022, the Township Committee appointed Vincent Barragan to fill the seat that had been held by Kent Huang.

Build for the Future.
“Improve and modernize our infrastructure. Part of this is coming to an equitable agreement with our PBA union. Their contract expired last year. I believe I’m been a champion for our police department. I was a police explorer as a teenager, and I want to make sure we do right by the police.”
Minimize Taxes.
“Focus on the affordability of the town, especially with what is going on in the broader economy with inflation. I would like to partner with other groups, such as the school board and the county, to see how we could maximize the effectiveness of our taxes. I provide successful financial leadership for a billion dollar-size business. I could use that knowledge in the township’s budgeting process.”
Continue to build a culture of inclusivity.
He says he is experienced in attracting, retaining, and advocating for people from diverse backgrounds, as well as Veterans, in corporate settings. This background would help in this endeavor.

“I have three years of experience on Township Committee, and I’m currently the deputy mayor. I led the Budget and Finance Committee for the past three years delivering municipal budgets well below the rate of inflation. Additionally, I supported public safety by championing the first expansion of our police department in a decade.
I have also supported the Arrive program to address the increase in mental health calls. I have endorsed annual increases for our Shade Tree budget. In my second term, I commit to taking my lessons learned, and my hard-won relationships with state and county stakeholders to get Montgomery’s fair share of grants and incentives to reduce costs for our residents.
