Drunk Driver with a Loaded Firearm Crashes into a Utility Pole Near Montgomery High School

Montgomery Township police found William Schlotthauer, 26, of Wyncote, Pennsylvania standing outside his pick-up truck, which was disabled after a collision with a utility pole on Route 601 by Skillman Road on May 13 at 2:14 am.
During an investigation, police found Schlotthauer to be in possession of a loaded firearm, which was located on his person. They also determined he had been driving under the influence of alcohol.
Montgomery police officers transported Schlotthauer to the Montgomery Township Police Department for processing, and charged him with driving under the influence of alcohol and unlawful possession of a firearm. Police also issued several traffic summonses to Schlotthauer, who was then transferred to the Somerset County Jail pending a court appearance.
