What if you could get the house of your dreams delivered right to you — but with assembly required? That’s the background of the “kit houses” — more than 70,000 of them, by one estimate — sold in America and Canada by the Sears, Roebuck & Company between 1908 and 1942. Marvin Earl Conover of Rocky Hill, a dedicated mason, contractor, and lifelong member of Somerset County, NJ, died peacefully on Monday, August 11, 2025, at the Center for Hope Hospice Facility in Scotch Plains, NJ. He was 90 years old.

Montgomery Township Committee and Planning Board held an Affordable Housing Town Hall Monday night at the municipal center. Mayor Neena Singh said, "New options were developed in response to public feedback. Among the new options are additional extensions on expiring deed restrictions on existing affordable units so we can further reduce the total number of new units constructed." Meanwhile, two community groups are gearing up to challenge the township's plan.
