Montgomery police, Fire Companies No. 1 and No. 2, and Montgomery EMS responded to a single-family house fire in the 300 block of County Route 601 on Monday, October 5 at 10:47 pm. Heavy smoke awoke the residents, who were able to evacuate. They were treated by EMS and transported to Penn Medicine Princeton Hospital for smoke inhalation. The resident’s dog died in the fire.

The cause of the fire is under investigation. Initial investigation disclosed it appears to have originated in a living room that contained a space heater.
