The Montgomery Township Police Department, in partnership with the Montgomery Health Department, coordinated and participated in the THINKFAST Interactive program at the Montgomery Township High School on April 15. The event, sponsored by the Montgomery Health Department, focused on educating students about the dangers of vaping and substance abuse through an engaging, hands-on learning experience.

Montgomery Police Department, in partnership with Rock Brook School and Montgomery Special Education PTA (MSEPTA), are pleased to introduce a Special Needs Identification Decal Program, designed to improve safety, communication, and understanding between first responders and residents with special needs.

New e-bike regulations are now in effect across New Jersey. E-bike drivers must have a valid license for ages 15 and up, and insurance. The Montgomery Township Police Department reminds residents the new law is designed to improve public safety, clarify operator requirements, and ensure responsible use of electric bicycles throughout our community.

Detectives from Montgomery Police Department gave a presentation on drugs and internet safety to the freshman class at Montgomery High School. Montgomery Police also deal with multiple DWI's this March.

Montgomery Township, NJ, officials will honor several police officers as heroes on Thursday, Dec. 18, at 7:30 pm at town hall in Skillman. The officers risked their own lives in the line of duty this year by rescuing a woman from a smoke-filled burning home; saving a dog from an icy pond; rendering lifesaving aid to a stabbing victim and then safely apprehending and arresting the suspect — who was charged with attempted murder.

First responders extinguished a fire along a Montgomery Township hiking path leading to Van Horne Park on Tuesday, Nov. 18 at about 10 pm. Police Lt. Jason Larson said the fire may have been caused by a discarded cigarette. The NJ Forest Fire Service is investigating.

Montgomery Township, NJ - Montgomery Township's newest police officer Oksana Kopyto is a certified Humane Law Enforcement Officer (HLEO), meaning she is trained and has experience investigating and enforcing animal cruelty and welfare laws. She is also known to rescue homeless kittens and cats. Kopyto was sworn-in as a probationary officer at the Montgomery Township Committee meeting on November 13.
