Marvin Earl Conover of Rocky Hill, a dedicated mason, contractor, and lifelong member of Somerset County, NJ, died peacefully on Monday, August 11, 2025, at the Center for Hope Hospice Facility in Scotch Plains, NJ. He was 90 years old.

After crawling through smoke-filled buildings, battling live flames and logging hours of training, Edward Banfe, Cristian Ruedas, Jason Wang and Gary Zuckerman earned their Firefighter I certification, graduating from the Somerset County Fire Academy on July 11. Montgomery Police responded to Suffolk Road in Skillman after a dog was reported abandoned on July 25 at 7:45 pm. The caller was walking along the path in the area of the utility building when he heard a dog barking.

As part of its ongoing efforts to improve pedestrian safety in Montgomery Township the Montgomery Township Police Department conducted a pedestrian safety enforcement operation on the morning of Tuesday July 22 on Blue Spring Road. The operation focused on motorists who failed to stop for pedestrians in a marked crosswalk.

Diane Barbara (Cowley) Hoehn died quietly at home in Princeton, NJ on July 25, 2025 with her adoring husband, Bob, her son, Bobby, and her sisters, Mary and Joan, by her side after an over four year battle with ovarian cancer.

Rebecca Ann “Becky” Gorman, former Montgomery Township Court Clerk, died on Thursday, July 17, 2025, at her home. She was 65.

Newark Immigration Court Judge Tamar H. Wilson denied all of Montgomery Township resident John Zhang's applications on July 16 — leaving Zhang with the option of returning to his native China or remaining in the Elizabeth Contract Detention Facility, a facility that holds 300 detainees, while he appeals the decision.
