Belle Mead Resident Reports Apple ID Scam

A Belle Mead resident reported a theft of $5,300 after falling victim to a scam on July 15. The victim received a text message advising them that their Apple ID was compromised. The victim contacted the phone number in the text message, which led to the victim being informed that their bank account was compromised. The victim was directed to withdraw cash from the bank account and deposit it into BitCoin. After doing so, the victim sent the BitCoin account information to the scammer.

Montgomery Police responded to Suffolk Road after a dog was reported abandoned on July 25 at 7:45 pm. The caller was walking along the path in the area of the utility building when he heard a dog barking. The caller located the dog tied to a tree behind the utility building. Police contacted Animal Control, who responded and took custody of the dog. Police are investigating. Anyone with information is asked to contact Montgomery Police at 908.359.3222.

Checks Mailed at Skillman Post Office Stolen

A Skillman resident reported the theft of a check that was mailed from the Skillman Post Office on July 22. The victim’s bank contacted the victim after the check was deposited under suspicious circumstances. The detective bureau is investigating.


Burglary at McKnight Ballfields Concession Stand

Montgomery Police responded to McKnight Ballfields for a burglary to the concession stand on July 22. The victim reported the theft of the cash register and two security cameras. The detective bureau is investigating.


Ocean Grove Man Arrested on 601

Montgomery Police responded to Route 601 in the area of East Mountain Road for a vehicle stopped in the road with the engine revving on July 24 at 11:30 pm. Upon arrival, police located the vehicle and made contact with the driver, Crystal Vallee, 41 of Ocean Grove. Police said Vallee was operating the vehicle while intoxicated. Officer Ryan Martinez arrested Vallee and transported her to MTPD HQ for processing. Vallee was charged with Driving While Intoxicated, Careless Driving, Reckless Driving and Failure to Maintain Lane and is scheduled to appear in Montgomery Municipal Court.

Driver Loses Control of Vehicle on Skillman S-Curve

Montgomery Police responded to Route 601 at the Skillman S-Curve for a motor vehicle crash on July 25 at 8:30 pm. Police determined Shivansh Pandey, 19, of Belle Mead, was travelling north on Route 601 in a 2024 Honda Accord. Pandey lost control while entering the S-Curve, resulting in the vehicle striking a fire hydrant. The vehicle was towed from the scene. Pandey was not injured, and was ticketed for careless driving.


Gucci Necklace Stolen

A Belle Mead resident reported the theft of a necklace while moving on July 25 at 9:15 pm. The victim reported a “Gucci” necklace was missing from the residence. The detective bureau is investigating.


Theft on Opossum Road

An Opossum Road resident reported a theft of items from their vehicle on July 27. The theft occurred during the overnight hours from the unlocked vehicles in the driveway. The detective bureau is investigating. Montgomery Police remind all residents to lock their vehicles and remove valuables from their cars.
