Inaugural Board of Trustees Begins Work to Restore and Revitalize Mary Jacobs Memorial Library in Rocky Hill

The incorporators of the Harold and Mary Jacobs Library Foundation, Inc. (HMJLF) are pleased to announce the Foundation’s inaugural Board of Trustees.

The following Rocky Hill residents will serve on the board: W. J. “Brad” Bradhering, Susan Bristol, Connie Hallman, William K. Hallman, Jon Lee, Bailey Occhipinti, Wendy Rayner, and Eric White.

Working in partnership with the Borough of Rocky Hill, “the HMJLF Board is excited to begin the process of reimagining, restoring, and revitalizing” the Mary Jacobs Memorial Library at 64 Washington Street in honor of Harold and Mary Jacobs and their enduring legacy to the community, according to Bradhering.

The foundation’s mission is to help preserve the library’s historic purpose while creating new opportunities for learning, discovery, the arts, civic engagement, and community connection. The board looks forward to working with borough, residents, and community partners to develop a vision for the library’s future.

Once the building and associated assets are formally transferred to the borough and the foundation, additional information will be shared regarding next steps and opportunities for community involvement. In the meantime, individuals interested in supporting the foundation through donations, volunteer service, or other assistance are encouraged to contact the foundation at hmjlfi@gmail.com.
