CT STEM, a non-profit organization dedicated to youth development in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics, is powered by volunteer student teachers. This year, Romir Uppal, a freshman at Montgomery High School, started a new batch in Montgomery.

CT STEM taught 3rd and 5th grade math classes with a curriculum focused on developing deep conceptual understanding and problem-solving skills, which helped them prepare for the math competitions.

In the Continental Mathematics League, they are proud to recognize the top cumulative scorers: Jaivin Mehta (3rd grade) and Aric Elavia (5th grade). Special commendation also goes to Om Thorat (2nd highest, 5th grade), Kanisha Patel (2nd highest, 3rd grade), and Riona Uppal (3rd highest, 5th grade).

Students also participated in the national Math Kangaroo competition, with 9,094 3rd grade competitors and 8,115 5th grade competitors. From Montgomery, they congratulated Anwita Yalamarthi and Jaivin Mehta for securing a top 20 national rank in the 3rd grade competition.

These kids’ amazing scores are a testament to the amount of hard work they have done over the year.
