Montgomery Board of Education Member Jinesh Patel resigned on October 23, creating a vacancy.
The board did not say why he resigned, but the board is looking to appoint a replacement. The individual appointed to fill the vacant position will serve on the board through January 2022.
Interested candidates should submit a letter of interest stating they are qualified to serve. The letter of interest is due no later than noon on November 17.

A candidate must meet the qualifications to serve on the board, including: A board member must be able to read and write. A board member must hold U.S. citizenship and one year’s residency in the school district. A board member must not be convicted of certain crimes.
