Montgomery Township is set to join a group of municipalities in a lawsuit against a state mandate to build more affordable housing.

On a sweltering June 24th evening, 427 students, plus their families, teachers, and school officials, gathered inside the air conditioned gymnasium to celebrate their accomplishments.

Somerset County will host an in-person public information session on Tuesday, July 1, from 6:30 pm to 8 pm to update the community on the Griggstown Causeway (CR 632) Concept Development Study, which impacts both Montgomery and Franklin Townships.

An additional 260 affordable housing unit credits must be built or otherwise provided in Montgomery Township, NJ, between July 1, 2025 and June 30, 2035. Learn where the new developments might go. Residents have an opportunity to give feedback at the 45-minute June 23 Planning Board meeting at the Montgomery Municipal Center in Skillman. (The meeting will continue on June 26 if needed).

The Stoutsburg Sourland African American Museum (SSAAM), is dedicated to preserving and sharing the African American experience. It invites the public to its fourth annual Juneteenth celebration, at its Hollow Road campus in Skillman on Saturday, June 21 from Noon to 4 pm.

The suspect who was arrested after stabbing a Montgomery, NJ, resident outside a Willow Run home on June 16 at 1:30 pm is now charged with Attempted Murder, police said. The victim was transported to an area hospital for stab wounds to the shoulder and abdomen, underwent emergency surgery, and luckily is expected to survive.
