Once again, Montgomery High School (MHS) SAT scores rank in the top five general admission public high schools in New Jersey, according to the latest School Performance Reports released by the New Jersey Department of Education (NJDOE).

School rankings vary depending on how publications interpret the raw data. For example, New Jersey has 319 public school districts, and a total of 445 public high schools. Some of these schools are magnet schools or academies, in which students must “compete” for a limited number of seats by passing a competitive test before they can attend the school.

MHS is a general admission public school. The Montgomery News compares MHS to all the other general admission schools in the state. (A list of the Top 20 SAT scores statewide appears at the bottom of this article. The list includes public academies/magnet school, however, it does not include private high schools, which are not required to report their SAT scores to the NJDOE.
