A New Jersey Chancery Court Judge ruled in favor of a local community group and the Borough of Rocky Hill NJ on March 18, concluding a long-running legal battle over the fate of the shuttered Mary Jacobs Memorial Library. The court ruled that a newly formed entity, the Harold & Mary Jacobs Library Foundation, Inc. (H&MJLF), presented a viable plan to reopen and maintain a small community library in Rocky Hill — consistent with the original intent of donor Harold Jacobs.

The small borough, which only has about 280 households now, would grow by about 32%, if this development comes to fruition.
