An 11-year-old and a 94-year-old Win Montgomery Township Arbor Day Contest

Alden Battaglia, 11, of Rocky Hill and Doris Nini, 94, of Montgomery Township were the co-winners of the Montgomery Shade Tree Committee's Arbor Day Seed Contest held at the Mary Jacobs Library in April.

Nini guessed closest to the number of seeds in a glass far and correctly identified the source of the seeds as a hickory tree. Battaglia guessed the second closest, and he more precisely identified the tree source as a shagbark hickory. Larry Koplik, chairman of the Shade Tree Committee, presented each of the winners with a book about trees.
