Brendan P. Welch, 31

Life long animal lover

September 24, 1987 — August 20, 2019

Brendan Patrick Welch of Skillman unexpectedly died on August 20. He was 31.

Brendan graduated with a degree in business from Fairleigh Dickinson University in 2011, where he served as president of his fraternity, Sigma Chi. Following college, Brendan volunteered his time coaching youth lacrosse in Montgomery.

Most recently, he bought and renovated a home in Highlands. A life-long animal lover, Brendan shared his family’s obsession with dachshunds. He spent his free time golfing, fishing, playing guitar, and listening to music.

Brendan had an innate ability to connect with people from all walks of life and create true and lasting friendships from those encounters. Anyone who knew Brendan knew he loved fiercely and would drop everything on a dime to help someone in his life. He will be remembered for his infectious smile, booming laugh, and impeccable taste in ties.

He is survived by his parents, Mark and Patricia Welch; his brother, Colin; his sister, Angelica; and his maternal grandmother, Patricia Farrell.

He is also survived by his aunts and uncles: Timothy and Mary Welch; Regina and John Brett; William and Joann Farrell; Thomas Farrell; Timothy Farrell; James Farrell; Francis Farrell; and Maryann Farrell-Williams; his cousins, Ansley and Ryan Brett, Megan, and Thomas Colagiacomo, Shannon Tedesco, Timothy Welch, Liam and Gabrielle Farrell, Victoria and Laura Farrell, and Mariel and Luke Williams; and, his dog Cyrus.

A mass will be held August 27 at 10 am in St. Charles Borromeo Church, 47 Skillman Road. Brendan will be buried in Rocky Hill Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the Welch family asks for donations to SAVE Animal Shelter in memory of Brendan. ■
