Montgomery High School students will learn about bullying/mental health, driver safety/distracted driving, and vaping/substance abuse this year in three assemblies sponsored by Montgomery's police, health department, and school district.

Montgomery Township will remember local victims of the September 11, 2001 attack on America on with a ceremony at the Montgomery Fire Department #2 / Blawenburg at 6 pm today, September 11.  Three Montgomery residents and one Rocky Hill resident died in the 9/11 attacks – Brian Thomas Cummins, Steven Goldstein, Phillip L. Parker, and William F. Fallon (Rocky Hill).

Erik and Sarah Axelsen lived in their new Belle Mead home for just two weeks before disaster struck. A severe thunderstorm on Saturday, September 7, uprooted a giant oak tree on their front lawn, and it crashed through the roof of their one-story home at about 2:30 pm.

Seeing the seating section of the borough council room much fuller than usual on August 2, Rocky Hill Mayor Bob Uhrik greeted the attendees and observed, “I think many of you are here about the municipal water bills.” Much immediate head nodding among the citizens quickly confirmed the mayor’s surmise.

John Graham, a retired attorney who practiced in Princeton, died at his home in Griggstown, NJ, on August 23, 2025 at the age of 94.

Montgomery Police were busy in the last 30 days — arresting three individuals who had fallen asleep in unrelated incidents on township roadways. Two were found along Route 518 and one on Great Road. Police also issued multiple DUIs and reported car and home burglaries, and an incident of mail theft.

Marvin Earl Conover of Rocky Hill, a dedicated mason, contractor, and lifelong member of Somerset County, NJ, died peacefully on Monday, August 11, 2025, at the Center for Hope Hospice Facility in Scotch Plains, NJ. He was 90 years old.
