Skillman Park Runner Finds Car Window Smashed and Purse and Wallet Stolen

A Montgomery runner at Skillman Park found her front passenger window smashed and her Coach bag and wallet missing from her vehicle in the parks's parking lot on Tuesday, February 8 at 5:12 pm.


The victim told Montgomery Township police that, as she was finishing her run, she observed a black, two-door sedan, possibly a BMW 3 series, stopped next to her vehicle in the parking lot. The driver of the vehicle, an Asian male in his 20s with dark hair wearing sun glasses with metal frames, then drove right by her, the victim told police.

Skillman Park in Montgomery Township is owned and managed by Somerset County. The park is approximately 250 acres with access from Route 601 and Burnt Hill Road, using Main Boulevard. The park features beautiful vistas, and a 2.25 mile paved multi-use loop trail. There are several parking lots located off of Main Boulevard where you can park and easily access the trail. The police did not identify the parking lot in which the crime occurred.
