A Meadow Run Drive resident in the Skillman section of Montgomery Township reported to police that a solicitor was going door-to-door by the name of "Irish Joe" on February 23 at 5:15 pm. He was offering to fix resident's driveways, police said.
Officer Connor Chapkowski and Officer Craig Merkle of the Montgomery Police Department responded to the area off Opossum Road and located Joseph Cash and William Delaney soliciting without a permit.
Police issued an ordinance violation to Joseph Cash for soliciting without a permit.
William Delaney, 57, was found to have an active warrant for his arrest out of South Bound Brook. Delaney was placed under arrest and processed at police headquarters. Delaney was released pending a court appearance. Residents are reminded to notify MTPD of any suspicious activity/persons at the time they occur.
