Pilot Walks Away after Crash at Princeton Airport

The pilot, a 56-year-old man from Princeton Junction, walked away from his plane after crashing at Princeton Airport on Route 206 in Montgomery Township on Thursday, April 28, at 4:44 pm, according to Montgomery police.

Montgomery police responded to Princeton Airport for an airplane that experienced a mechanical issue while landing. Upon arrival, police located a Beechcraft 35 Bonanza on the runway. The pilot had landed the plane without landing gear, police said.

The pilot informed police officers that he was landing following a trip that originated in Florida. When he began to land, he noticed the landing gear would not extend. He was able to land the plane without the use of the landing gear, skidding to a stop on the runway. Employees of Princeton Airport were able to remove the plane from the runway with minimal interruption to airport operations. The Federal Aviation Administration was notified of the incident.
