The four candidates for Montgomery Township’s governing board — Republicans Chris Venis and George De Sanctis and Democrats Mike Martin and Vince Barragan — each answered a Montgomery News questionnaire on multiple issues, including affordable housing, preserving open space, immigration, and more.

The candidates' responses are unedited, in accordance with the newspaper’s long-standing policy to give each candidate a chance to address each voter in their constituency. Martin and Barragan currently serve on Township Committee. Their terms expire in December. Voters must elect two of the four candidates to serve three-year terms.
This column is particularly important because all four candidates were invited, and declined, to participate in a proposed "Meet the Candidates Forum," which was to be sponsored and run by the League of Women Voters' of the Greater Princeton Area with free publicity from The Montgomery News. The forum would have been made available online by Central New Jersey Network (CNJN) Community Television.
