Montgomery Elementary Students Meet Their Congresswoman & Share Valentines for Vets

By Barbara A. Preston | Posted February 15, 2023

Congresswoman Bonnie Watson Coleman visited Village Elementary School in Montgomery Township on Tuesday to visit with students and pick up Valentine’s Day cards to be distributed to local veterans.

Montgomery students enthusiastically raised their hands during a question-and-answer session with Congresswoman Bonnie Watson Coleman.

The Valentines for Veterans program is an opportunity for students to express appreciation for veterans in the 12th District and across New Jersey. Each year local elementary school students create handmade Valentine’s Day cards which are collected by staff of Congresswoman Watson Coleman and distributed to veterans organizations across the state.

As part of her visit, the Congresswoman appeared on the students’ daily morning news announcements thanking the students for their participation. She also took questions from the third and fourth graders.
