United and Porto each punched their ticket to the NPL Finals by winning the Mid-Atlantic Premier League Championship during the spring season.

Montgomery High School (MHS) was represented by Macintyre Jerdonek (1 goal), Jason Lee, Nicolas Savard, and Ryan Spicer for United, and Cameron Olsen, Sid Goyal (2 goals, 2 assists, team captain), Christian Truppi, Aadit Tyagi, and Logan Miller for Porto.

For both teams, the national championship match was unforgettable. Porto mounted a stunning comeback after trailing 3-0 at halftime to finally claim the title with a resounding 5-3 victory in extra time.

United, meanwhile, battled through a grueling scoreless match that was ultimately decided by a penalty shootout where it decisively prevailed 3-0. United also distinguished itself as the only team in the entire tournament to not concede a single goal throughout all its matches.

These student-athletes are currently building on this positive momentum as teammates on the MHS Varsity Soccer Team.
