Man Found in Car in Pike Brook, Belle Mead, Pronounced Dead

Montgomery police responded to the report of a motor vehicle crash into the Pike Brook off Belle Mead-Griggstown Road on Friday, August 25 at 12:46 pm. Police have not released the name of the driver, who was later pronounced dead. He was 38 years old from Old Bridge, NJ.

While on Belle Mead Griggstown Road, at the Pike Brook Bridge, patrols located a black 2004 Lexus off the bridge and partially submerged in the brook. Patrols entered the water, and located the unconscious driver entrapped in the vehicle.


Patrols worked to extricate the driver of the vehicle, and with the assistance of Montgomery EMS 47 and Montgomery Vol Fire Co # 1. Paramedics from Robert Wood Johnson Hospital, and Montgomery EMS transported the driver to the hospital, where he was later pronounced dead.


The crash is an ongoing investigation, and anyone with information is requested to contact the Montgomery Twp. Police Department at 908-359-3222, and speak with Officer Timothy Giaccone.
