Elsie M. Van Liew, 98, of Belle Mead died February 6 at Princeton Care Center. Born in Hopewell, she was a life-long area resident. She was a waitress for many years at the Marriott and a member of the Calvary Baptist Church in Hopewell.
Daughter of the late Leon and Myrtle Ericson Hill, wife of the late Dennis P. Van Liew, she is survived by four sons: Theodore D. Van Liew of Columbus; Richard E. Van Liew and his wife Barbara of Texas; David H. Van Liew of Pennsylvania; and Brian H. Van Liew and his wife Barbara of Belle Mead. She is also survived by her grandchildren: Sarah Ann, Jessica Ann, Peter, Christopher, Theodore, and Morgan; and great grandchildren: Kobe, Mia, Arianna, Joey, and Savanah.
The viewing will be held Saturday, February 12 from 9:30 to 10:30 am at the Wilson-Apple Funeral Home, 2560 Pennington Road, Pennington, with services at 10:30 am. The Rev. Dennis O’Neill, pastor of the Calvary Baptist Church, officiating. Burial will follow at Highland Cemetery, Hopewell. Condolences are welcome at www.wilsonapple.com.
