Dipalika "Dipali" Bhargava, MD, of Belle Mead died on May 6, 2025. She was 86.

Born in Kanpur, Uttar Pradesh, India on October 22, 1938, she was a beacon of resilience, intelligence, and compassion.

Dipalika was a pioneer, breaking barriers as one of few women to attend medical school in India in the 1950s. Her illustrious career as a physician and pathologist demonstrated her unwavering commitment to the well-being of others.

Dipalika was a lover of romance novels, a lifetime movie enthusiast, and a devotee of Jeopardy and Wheel of Fortune. Her green thumb was evident in her love for gardening, and nothing brought her more joy than spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandson.

Dipalika was a spiritual pillar in her home in Belle Mead, NJ. Her daily morning puja led the home with blessings and set the tone for each day. Dipalika’s positivity was as infectious as her smile, and her ability to see the good in everyone made her a cherished member of her family and community.

Everyone will forever remember her for her warmth, wisdom, and unwavering support. Her legacy of love and positivity will be carried on by her daughter Shalini, son-in-law Amod, grandchildren, great grandson, and the lives of all those she touched.

As we reflect on the Bhagavad Gita verse, "The soul is neither born, and nor does it die" (2.20). We are comforted in knowing that Dipalika’s spirit will live on.
