Denise Marie Byrnes-Paprota, 76

March 8, 1944 - May 30, 2020

Denise Marie Byrnes-Paprota, 76, of Rocky Hill died on May 30, at Princeton Medical Center in Plainsboro.

Denise Marie Byrnes-Paprota

Born and raised in Brooklyn, NY, she was the seventh child and fifth daughter of Margaret M. (Wilson) and Richard B. Byrnes. Denise lived in Spotswood for more than 40 years before moving to Rocky Hill.

A loving and devoted mother, she worked hard to provide and care for her four children. She always found time for her large extended family, including four grandchildren, dozens of nieces and nephews, cousins, and many lifelong friends. She most enjoyed large gatherings with her family and best friends, with a good HOT cup of coffee.

Denise volunteered for many years with the Ladies Auxiliary of the Spotswood Enterprise Hook & Ladder Co and retired as a life member. While raising her children she worked as a waitress and later as an administrative assistant until she retired from MarketSource Corporation in Cranbury. After moving to Rocky Hill, she enjoyed spending time at the Montgomery Senior Center, socializing with new friends and learning new skills.

Denise leaves behind her loving children: Kathleen and her husband, Philip Kartsonis; Maureen and her husband, William Pickering; Andrew J. Paprota and his wife, Cathy; and Richard R. Paprota; and her grandchildren: Joseph William Pickering, Margaret Denise Kartsonis, Katherine Margaret Pickering, and Maria Christina Kartsonis.

She is also survived by her sister, Geraldine Eng; her brothers, Donald J. Byrnes and Joseph P. Byrnes, and numerous nieces and nephews.

She is predeceased by her sisters: Margaret A. Carney, Mary Jane Raymond, and Dorothy Ingrassia; and her brothers, Richard Byrnes and Bruce Byrnes.

Burial will be in Holy Cross Burial Park, South Brunswick. A closed funeral mass will be conducted, in her name, at the Church of the Immaculate Conception in Spotswood.

A celebration of her life and legacy will be held at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Spotswood Volunteer Fire Department, Enterprise Hook & Ladder Co., Inc. 495 Main Street, Spotswood, NJ 08884; or the American Heart Association, 1 Union Street, Suite 301, Robbinsville, NJ 08691; or the Montgomery Senior Center, Otto Kaufman Community Center, 356 Skillman Road, Skillman, NJ 08558.
