July 20, 2021
Cherry Valley Country Club welcomed Aurelian Anghelusiu as general manager in June. An accomplished managing director in the hospitality industry, Anghelusiu has spent nearly 25 years honing his craft and leaving his indelible mark at some of the most recognized properties on the East Coast of the United States and abroad.
These include the Ritz Carlton, Four Seasons, JW Marriott, Westin Hotels, Turner Hill Country Club, Willowbend Country Club, Liberty National Golf Club, Montammy Country Club, Equinox Enterprises LLC, and most recently Ramsey Golf & Country Club. Fluent in German, French, and Romanian, Anghelusiu began his education in hotel administration and operations at the famed Institute Hotelier “Cesar Ritz” in Switzerland.
While in Switzerland he served in various management roles at Intercontinental Hotels & Resorts in Geneva and Hotel Zum Storchen in Zurich, to name a couple. He completed a four-year degree program at Johnson and Wales University in Providence, RI in only three years to earn his BS in hospitality/business management and joined the Ritz-Carlton Hotel Company at their flagship property in Boston, MA under the leadership and mentor-ship of Sigi Brauer, famed hotelier and founding member of the company. Anghelusiu quickly grew in the ranks to establish himself as a hotel manager with both the Ritz-Carlton Hotel Company as well as the Four Seasons Hotel Company. He earned an MBA with a concentration in “turnaround management” from Northeastern Graduate School of Business in Boston, MA.
Anghelusiu hit the ground running at Cherry Valley Country Club, where he is overseeing a multi-million-dollar facilities enhancement project to include a state-of-the-art health and fitness center as well as new and improved golf practice areas. He plans to enhance the club’s already robust social events and to bring his international flair and high-level service standards to the club’s culinary offerings. In addition to a gem of a golf course designed by renowned architect Rees Jones, Cherry Valley offers its members a lifestyle filled with culinary delights, and family events, as well as rackets, aquatics, and other activities, including summer camps for kids.
