Belle Mead Driver and Son Injured After Car Crash at 518-206 Intersection

A driver failed to stop for a red light at the busiest intersection in Montgomery.


Gui Pan, 55, from Monmouth Junction was driving a 2009 Lexus RX 350 westbound on County Route 518 and failed to observe a red signal, according to Montgomery Township police. Pan crashed into a 2011 Hyundai Sonata on Thursday, July 29, at 10:52 am.


Beth Porter, 55, of Belle Mead, was driving the Sonata south on State Highway Route 206. Her son, Jeremy, 22, was in the front passenger seat along with their pet dog.

EMS Rescue Squad 47 arrived on the scene and tended to injuries involving complaints of pain to Porter and her son. The Porters were transported by EMS Rescue Squad 47 to University Hospital of Princeton.


The pet dog, who was shaken by the incident, was put into the care of a family member.

Both vehicles were towed away from the scene. Police ticketed Pan for failure to observe a signal. Pan was not injured.
