Local abortion rights activists will speak at a rally in Princeton this Saturday as part of a nationwide demonstration for abortion rights.

The rally is from 10:30 am to 12:30 pm at Hinds Plaza (65 Witherspoon Street), according to Planned Parenthood Action Fund of New Jersey. Marches are going on across the country, including in our nation's capital, to protest a leaked Supreme Court majority decision that would overturn Roe v. Wade and Planned Parenthood v. Casey.

According to the Action Fund, those present will include:

  • U.S. Rep. Bonnie Watson Coleman

  • Assemblywoman Sadaf Jaffer of Montgomery Township

  • Cory Neering, Planned Parenthood Action Fund of New Jersey

  • Robt Martin Seda-Schreiber, Bayard Rustin Center for Social Justice

  • Representative from Cherry Hill Women's Center

  • Jesselley De La Cruz, Latino Action Network Foundation

  • Jesse Burns, League of Women Voters of New Jersey

  • Nicole Morella, New Jersey Coalition to End Domestic VIolence

  • Justina Mammeri, CNM, MS, Ocean Health Initiatives

  • Andrea Jimenez, Our Revolution Middlesex

  • Nadya Khan, Planned Parenthood Generation Action

Women's March is also involved in the day of demonstrations.

"This is an unprecedented leak from the court that, if true, would reverse nearly 50 years of precedent and explicitly end federal constitutional protections for abortion," Women's March event organizers wrote. "Twenty-six states could move quickly to ban abortion, meaning millions of people might live without local access to abortion. The people in your community and across the country deserve the power and freedom to make their own personal reproductive health care decisions."
