Elections 2019
District 16 Assembly
Candidates in alphabetical order are: Mark Caliguire (R) of Montgomery Twp; Roy Freiman (D) of Hillsborough; Christine Madrid (R) of Montgomery Township; and Andrew Zwicker (D) of South Brunswick.
All 80 seats are up for election in New Jersey’s state assembly, to which members are elected to two-year terms.
Legislative districts in the New Jersey General Assembly are multi-member districts, with two representatives in each district. District 16 includes Delaware Township, Flemington, Raritan, Readington, Stockton, Princeton, South Brunswick, Branchburg, Hillsborough, Manville, Millstone, Montgomery, Rocky Hill, and Somerville.
Two Montgomery residents are in the race representing the Republican party:
Mark Caliguire is a former Montgomery Township mayor and former Somerset County freeholder.
Christine Madrid, is also a former Montgomery Township mayor, and former committeewoman. ■
