Rich Kennedy, chief of Montgomery Volunteer Fire Co. No. 1, told The Montgomery News at the scene that there were no injuries. Upon arrival, there was black smoke wafting from the building. It was fortunate that Fire Co. No. 1 (Station 45) is located just across Belle Mead-Griggstown Road from the home. Quick action enabled the first responders to contain the damage to the basement. It was unknown whether the family will be displaced.
