Montgomery Township Committee and Planning Board held an Affordable Housing Town Hall Monday night at the municipal center. Mayor Neena Singh said, "New options were developed in response to public feedback. Among the new options are additional extensions on expiring deed restrictions on existing affordable units so we can further reduce the total number of new units constructed." Meanwhile, two community groups are gearing up to challenge the township's plan.

About 40 Montgomery Township neighbors form a coalition, expressing frustration with their governing officials regarding the adoption of what they say is a half-baked plan to provide 260 state-mandated affordable housing units or credits in Montgomery — particularly concerning the former Johnson & Johnson (now Kenvue) property on rural Grandview Road in Skillman, NJ.

A group of Montgomery residents who say they mostly support affordable housing object to where and how their town officials' plan to build it, will meet at the Montgomery Library in the community room tonight at 5:30 pm.

An additional 260 affordable housing unit credits must be built or otherwise provided in Montgomery Township, NJ, between July 1, 2025 and June 30, 2035. Learn where the new developments might go.
