Veterans Day to Celebrate and Honor Our Heroes on November 9

Montgomery Township will celebrate and honor our Veterans on Sunday, November 9 starting with a procession that will commence at 1:45 pm at the intersection of Harlingen Road and Devon Drive and end at the Montgomery Veterans Park on Harlingen Road.

The procession will be followed by a ceremony starting at 2 pm at the Veterans Memorial.


The celebration will include historical military displays, the Presentation of Colors by the Boy and Girl Scouts, recognition of our veterans present, readings from Montgomery Lower Middle School students, musical selections by the Lower Middle School Chorus representatives, and the playing of Taps.


Speakers will include former Minister Shelly L. Bell; Montgomery Township Mayor, Neena Singh; Guest Speaker, Congresswoman Bonnie Watson Coleman, District 12; Lisa Romano, Principal of Montgomery Township Lower Middle School; Mike Maloney of Rolling Thunder and Dimitra Bairaktaris, Chairperson of the Montgomery Veterans Memorial Committee.

In the case of inclement weather: the Ceremony will take place at the Montgomery Municipal Building. An announcement will be made on the Township website and Facebook page to inform the community about the change.
