Montgomery Police Lt. Jason Larson said the police department used a side-by-side utility vehicle to assist transporting rescue workers to the patient, and to transport the patient out of the woods. Montgomery EMS then transported the patient to the Kenvue corporate site on Grandview Road, where the NJ State Police NorthStar medevac helicopter could land.

The patient was medevaced to the Robert Wood Johnson Hospital Trauma Center in New Brunswick for treatment.

The Montgomery Township Police Department acquired this all-terrain vehicle in March to support response efforts in challenging environments. The addition of the ATV to the department’s fleet is part of an ongoing effort to improve public safety and community engagement.

Police said they are now able to respond more effectively and efficiently to both routine patrols and critical emergencies, ultimately strengthening their commitment to the safety and well-being of the community.
