Monty / Rocky Hill Rotary Club & Small Biz Assoc Deliver Food to First Responders

Beniaminos Cucina in Skillman is one of the local restaurants making lunches for healthcare workers. The Rotary Club of Montgomery / Rocky Hill and the Montgomery Business Association are collecting donations for the project.

The charitable initiative is a win-win. It helps local small businesses to stay viable while providing nutrition and appreciation to nurses, doctors, EMTs, and others on the front line.

Alison and Beniamino Iovine with son Alexander Iovine.

Beniaminos made the first batch of 50 prepared lunches, delivered to Robert Wood Johnson Hospital in New Brunswick on Friday, April 3.

“To date we have collected $3500,” according to a press release from the organizers.

How It Works

The MRH Rotary Club & MBA coordinates with local mom-and-pop food establishments to make to-go lunches for 50 to 100 people. The organizations will schedule the quantity needed, day/time of pickup, and will deliver to healthcare location.

Rotary and the MBA are raising money to pay the restaurants $10 per meal provided. This helps provide critical business for local shops.
