Trunk or Treat

The Parks & Recreation Department is hosting the annual Trunk or Treat event on Saturday, October 25 from 2-4 pm at Montgomery High School. Community partners will be on site with decorated trunks to hand out treats to celebrate Halloween with the community and provide a safe, fun environment for kids to collect candy.

Please bring a nonperishable food item for the Montgomery Food Pantry collection. We can’t wait to see your creative designs and celebrate together.

For senior/Social Security disability recipient homeowners and renters there is now a single application to claim benefits from Senior Freeze (Property Tax Reimbursement), ANCHOR, and the new Stay NJ Program.

All other eligible homeowners and renters under 65 and not collecting Social Security disability benefits had their applications automatically filed in the summer.

New Senior Center Director Lisa Carra in Montgomery Township, NJ

New Senior Center Director Lisa Carra

New Senior Center Director

Together with the Somerset County Office on Aging, I am pleased to announce Lisa Carra assumed the fulltime role as Community Resource Manager for the Senior Center.

Carra brings a wealth of experience as the former manager of the Bridgewater senior center. She is excited to get to know our seniors and begin management of the Montgomery Food Pantry.

This role is a shared service between Somerset County, which operates senior centers throughout Somerset County including the Montgomery location within the Otto Kaufman Community Center, and Montgomery Township, which supports the community resource manager’s role in managing the Montgomery Food Pantry.

The pantry is open to all Montgomery Township residents who are experiencing temporary financial hardships and having difficulty making ends meet.
