Bank Robber Dressed in Black Gets Away on Motorcycle

Police are looking for a man who robbed the Chase bank on Route 27 near South Middlebush Road in Franklin Township on Monday, August 22.


A man wearing a black motorcycle helmet and goggles walked into the bank at about 2 pm and demanded money from multiple bank tellers, according to the Somerset County Prosector's Office. The bank tellers ultimately turned over an undisclosed amount of cash to the man, who subsequently fled on a motorcycle. The man was about 5-foot-6-inches-tall, wearing black shoes, black pants, a black shirt, and a black mask.

Franklin Township police responded to Chase bank on Route 27 and canvassed the area in search of the suspect, who fled the scene on a motorcycle and remains at large.

Somerset County Prosecutor John P. McDonald said that detectives from the Somerset County Major Crimes Unit, along with detectives from the Franklin Township Police Department, responded to the scene to conduct an investigation.
