The Montgomery Development Boom Continues

A new preschool, medical offices, a nursing home, senior citizen affordable housing, and another housing development for Route 206 are in the pipeline for the Montgomery Township planning and zoning boards.


The following applications were submitted to Montgomery Township planning office in January and February and will be scheduled for public hearings before the planning or zoning boards in the coming months.

An architect’s rendering of the proposed Malvern School, which would replace a single-family home on Route 518 where the new Brecknell Way road is under construction behind the Tigers Tale.


► Malvern School Properties (MSP) Preschool and Medical Office — MSP of Glen Mills, Pennsylvania filed an application to demolish an existing single family dwelling in Skillman to construct a 4,000-square-foot medical office and a two-story 8,640-square-foot Malvern School on a two-acre site at 982 Route 518 .


MSP purchased the property for $1.2 million in September. The year-round private preschool, for ages six weeks to eight years, has 27 locations throughout southeastern Pennsylvania and central and southern New Jersey. The school is scheduled to appear before the Montgomery Zoning Board on March 28 at 7 pm. They are applying for height and bulk variances.


An architect’s rendering of a 34,444-square-foot 80-unit assisted living and memory care facility proposed for Hartwick and Village drives in Skillman.


► BPS Development Company (80-Unit Assisted Living Facility) — BPS of Atlanta, Georgia wants to build a 34,444-square-foot 80-unit assisted living and memory care facility on a vacant 4.4- acre property currently owned by Sharbell at Hartwick and Village drives in Skillman.


The company is seeking preliminary and final major site plan approval with bulk variances. The public hearing before the Montgomery Planning Board is scheduled for Monday, March 27, at 7 pm.

► Harlingen Associates 54-unit Residential on Route 206 — A multi-family residential development on Route 206 in the Harlingen section of Montgomery consisting of three two-story apartment buildings with 18 residential units (11 affordable and seven market units) plus 36 three-bedroom rowhomes. The applicant applied for preliminary and final major subdivision and site approval. A hearing date is yet to be scheduled.


► RPM Affordable Senior Citizen Housing Development — One senior citizen affordable housing building containing 70 senior affordable rental units and one supervisor unit. The building would be located next to the new Montgomery municipal complex on the corner of Route 206 ad Orchard Road. RPM will appear before the Montgomery Site Plan Committee on March 7, at 8:30 pm. Join by phone at 646.828.7666.
