Grew up in Rocky Hill

Ruth Neil Dow was born on March 30, 1931, in Rocky Hill, NJ. She died peacefully at home in Bonita Springs, FL, on May 10. She was 93.
Ruth grew up in Rocky Hill with her parents and six siblings. She graduated from Princeton High School in 1949. As a young woman she worked as a telephone switchboard operator at FMC. Her hard-working nature quickly earned her a promotion to an accounting position when women were predominately excluded from advancing in the field.
On January 30, 1958, Ruth married Francis Dow, raising their children Loretta Dow, Doug Dow, and Ken Scott.
In retirement, Ruth was dedicated to volunteering for her church's food pantry in Pinellas Park, FL, and frequently knitting baby blankets and sweaters for her surviving six grandchildren, Carrie Whitney, Stephanie Cash, Jamie Hill, Kate House, Laura, and Anna Freyhof.
A friend to all, Ruth kept in touch with co-workers who became like family to her at FMC, church members, neighbors, and school classmates throughout her life.
