Hillsborough Man Charged with Child Pornography

Police arrested Bernardino Gonzalez Lorenzana, 36, of Robin Road in Hillsborough and charged him with possessing and distributing child pornography in Hillsborough Township.


The Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force, a national network, notified the Somerset County Prosecutor’s Office through their data system of an apparent upload of images of child pornography in Hillsborough. An investigation initiated by the Somerset County Prosecutor’s Office Computer Crimes Unit revealed that Gonzalez Lorenzana was suspected of possessing images of child sexual abuse material and sharing it with another individual.

Prosecutor John P. McDonald said detectives assigned to the Somerset County Prosecutor’s Office Computer Crimes Unit, agents from of U.S Homeland Security Investigation – Newark Field Office, and members of the Hillsborough Township Police Department executed a court ordered search warrant on Gonzalez Lorenzana’s residence on Monday, November 7. A preliminary search yielded numerous files depicting the sexual exploitation and/or abuse of children.


Police arrested Gonzalez Lorenzana at his residence and charged him with 2nd degree Distribution of Child Pornography and 3rd degree Possession of Child Pornography. He was lodged in the Somerset County Jail pending a detention hearing in this matter.
