Loved old muscle cars, dirt bikes, and motorcycles

Daniel Joseph Nelson

Daniel Joseph Nelson of Skillman, died after a motorcycle accident on December 1. He was 26.

Daniel, sometimes to referred to as Danny by his friends, grew up in and spent most of his life in Hillsborough. He was the spitting image of his father, he loved old muscle cars, dirt bikes, and motorcycles. The two were rarely seen without the other. He found his passion learning how to repair things from a young age, and could often be found taking apart old computers or engines and trying to put them back together.

To know Daniel was to love his genuinely kind and loving soul, he had a huge heart and cared so deeply for others and would give you the shirt off his back if you ever needed it. He also loved animals and was always bringing home anything from kittens to reptiles.

Apart from his job at Autozone, in his spare time you could find Daniel fishing, playing video games with his brother Matthew, working on his motorcycle and cars with his dad, or hanging out with his close friends and family.

Daniel is survived by his mother, Tammy Nelson, and his three siblings; Ashley Nelson, Alyssa Nelson, and Mathew Nelson. He is also survived by his grandmothers, Mary Coleman and Marie VanderPluym, along with his aunts, uncles and respective cousins; Rich and Lisa Coleman, Cindy Conter-Coleman, Mike Nelson and Kim Horvath. He is recently predeceased by his father, Dan Nelson on August 10th, 2023. He is also predeceased by his grandfathers, Eric Nelson and Richard Coleman.

There will be a memorial visitation at Hillsborough Funeral Home on Sunday, December 10 from 2 pm to 5 pm and a Memorial Mass on Monday, December 11 at 10am at St. Joseph's Church, Hillsborough.
