19-year-old Belle Mead Teen Dead after Car Crash

A 19-year-old Belle Mead man, a recent Montgomery High School graduate, died after the car he was driving struck a tree on Willow Road early Saturday morning.

Chase M. Coram, 19, of the Belle Mead section of Montgomery, was driving a 2015 Toyota Scion south on Willow Road at 5:44 a.m. Saturday when the car left the roadway and struck a tree, according to a news release from Hillsborough

police. The accident occurred just south of Kilmer Drive.

Coram died from his injuries at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital Somerset in Somerville, according to the news release.

Coram was a student at Monmouth University, according to his Facebook page.

The Hillsborough and Montgomery police departments, the Hillsborough Fire Company and the Robert Wood Johnson Rescue Squad/MCIU responded to the scene.

Willow Road was closed in both directions for approximately two hours while the crash was being investigated, according to the news release. Police said the accident remains under investigation; call 908-369-4323 if you have any information.
