Central Jersey Conservative Union to Host Trump Freedom Picnic in Veteran's Park

A Trump Freedom Picnic, in support of Donald Trump's 2020 presidency, is planned for Sunday, July 19 at Montgomery Veteran's Park in the pavilions by the baseball fields off Harlingen Road in Montgomery Township.



Speakers include:

NJ Senator Mike Doherty

Senator Mike Doherty (R-District 23), will give a talk titled "Civil Societies Demand Educated Citizens, Regaining Control of Freedoms Lost Post COVID-19​."


New Jersey's 23rd legislative district is one of 40 in the NJ legislature. The district includes parts of Hunterdon County; parts of Somerset County (municipalities of Bedminster Township, Bound Brook Borough, Bridgewater Township, Peapack-Gladstone Borough, Raritan Borough, and South Bound Brook Borough), and parts of Warren County.

Anthony P. Colandro (NRA Board Member and founder of Gun For Hire, America's Urban Defense Institute) lives in Woodland Park. He will speak about "Preserving Natural Rights for Self Defense."

Other Speakers include:


Victoria Jakelsky of Flemington, a member of New Jersey Parental Rights and the director of Protect Your Children, will speak about "Protecting Children from Sexualizing."

Alec Grant, graduated from Montgomery High School in 2015 and is a recent graduate of Rowan University. He will speak about "Technology: The Vaccine for FAKE NEWS."

The picnic is being hosted by the Central Jersey Conservative Union and will be held from 2 to 5 pm at 235 Harlingen Road in Belle Mead.


Montgomery Township and Rocky Hill Borough are actually part of NJ legislative District 16, which includes parts of Hunterdon, Mercer, Middlesex and Somerset counties. The District 16 state senator is Senator Christopher Bateman ((R - District 16). It is unknown whether Bateman will attend the picnic.


New Jersey's state senators generally serve four-year terms. The next general election for state senate will be in November 2021.


Senator Bateman has served the 16th District in the legislature since January 1994 when he was elected to the NJ General Assembly where he served seven consecutive terms, ending in 2007. In 2008, he was elected state senator and currently serves on the Senate Judiciary Committee, the Senate Environment Committee, the Joint Committee on Public Schools, and the Joint Committee on Housing Affordability.


Senator Bateman and his wife, the former Susan Formichella, have four children, sons Christopher Jr. and Joseph, and daughters Stephanie and Kate. He is the son of former Assemblyman and Senator and 1977 gubernatorial candidate, Raymond H. Bateman.
