Police Investigate after a Family Member Drove a Vehicle into a Hillsborough Man, Killing Him

Police are investigating the death of Hillsborough man, 41, who died on Saturday, February 25 after a family member struck him with a vehicle outside of his Clark Lane home, near Zion Road by the Sourland Mountains Preserve at about 2:28 am.

The Somerset County Prosector's Office and Hillsborough police are conducting the investigation. No charges have been filed.

Prosecutor John P. McDonald said that Hillsborough police and emergency services were dispatched to the Clark Lane residence after receiving a 911 call. Police are withholding the name of the driver and the victim, who died at the scene.

Detectives from the Somerset County Prosecutor’s Office Major Crimes Unit, Crime Scene Investigation Unit and members of the Somerset County Collision Analysis Reconstruction Team responded to the scene to investigate along with detectives from the Hillsborough Township Police Department. Investigators from the New Jersey Northern Regional Medical Examiner’s Office also responded to the scene to investigate.

The death remains under investigation by detectives pending an autopsy and toxicology report from the New Jersey Northern Regional Medical Examiner’s Office and the results of the Collision Analysis Reconstruction Team’s findings. No criminal charges have been filed at this time.
